PROFILE
Phil is a commercially astute quantity
surveyor who has a track record in improving the commercial
performance of his clients’ projects.
Phil started his career working for a
private quantity surveying practice gaining extensive technical
experience providing costs management services on a wide variety
and sizes of projects. He then moved on to a small subcontract
company where he utilised his technical experience knowledge and
general commercial astuteness to improve company performance and
increase turnover by 30% within his first year.
Phil joined MBM in 2005 where he has
prepared both time and money claims, however his principal area
of expertise has been in providing commercial management
services to contracting organisations. His current role involves
managing a team of surveyors working on an NEC3 framework
contract, looking to implement effective and contractually
compliant procedures, minimise cost and increase value. He has
therefore gained a thorough understanding on the practical
workings of the NEC form and the risks and opportunities that it
provides.
Phil was promoted to Technical Services
Director in 2010 and his positive and affable nature has been an
asset in building strong client and team relationships.

engineering projects, providing commercial management services as well
as preparation of time and money claims.
